This presentation, made to the Institute of Management Consultants (Oregon and SW Washington Chapter) is an overview of the latest technology tools and techniques. It is geared specifically to the seasoned Management Consultant. Beginning with a foundation of the Pareto Principle (aka the 80-20 rule), Moore's Law and then go on to apply the Web Mentors' eBusiness model to the consulting practice.
Emphasis is placed on adopting currently available off the shelf technology in lieu of custom built solutions. The many practical tips help be more efficient in our practice by reducing the amount of time wasted and increasing quality productive time. We discuss how technology can help you acquire a competitive edge to improve your practice, promote yourself to a wider audience, attract clients and gain new skills to be more successful.
Thanks again for everyone's participation and encouragement! For those of you who attended, what did you find to be the most helpful tip? What tips do you want to share with the rest of us?
4/21/07: I edited the recording of my presentation down to just 22 minutes. You can download the Windows Media file for your PC, or a QuickTime Movie if you have a Mac. Alternatively, I made an MP3 file available too so that you can load it on your iPod and listen to the audio only. I also got some feedback that a few people wanted the slides, so I made them available as a PDF file that you can download too.
4/27/07: Anna pointed out a mistake in the voice intro that represents IMC as International Mangement Consults when it is the Institute of Management Consultants.
